【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesstandardterminologyforuseinidentifyinganddescribingthedifferentchemicalformsofcyanide.Thecomplexnatureofcyanidechemistry,existenceofnumerousdistinctchemicalformsaswellasthevariousregulatorydistinctionsthatmaybemadecanleadtoconfusionintechnicaldiscussionsoncyanideandintheselectionofappropriatemethodsforitsanalysis.Thisguideisintendedtoprovideclarificationandacommonframeworkoftermsanddefinitionstofacilitatediscussionsandreferencingdifferentcyanidechemicalspeciesandgroupsofcyanidecompounds.Theuseofsuchcommonterminologyisparticularlyimportantfromanenvironmentalperspectivebecausecertainformsofcyanideareconsideredtobetoxic.Therefore,theirreleaseintotheenvironmentisregulatedbyfederalandstateagencies.Thusageneralunderstandingofcyanidechemistryandspeciesdefinitionsisneededforproperwastewatermanagementandtesting.1.1Thisguidedefinesstandardterminologyusedfortheclassificationofthevariouschemicalformsofcyanide.Itisintendedtoprovideageneralunderstandingofthechemicalnatureofdistinctcyanidespeciesasrelatedtochemicalanalysisandenvironmentalfateandtransport.
